I wanted to take some time to do a write up about a cause that was brought to my attention. Joshua Mathes (themole0331) will be hosting a 24 hour benefit Twitch Stream to raise money to benefit kids being treated at Akron Children's Hospital. All Donations are tax deductible. Any donation amount is great. Every little bit helps!
Its great to see guys like Joshua come together and host these sort of events. If you are new to Twitch or Hitbox streams, there are a lot of streamers just like Joshua that hold events like this for various great causes. A lot of money is raised for all of these worthy causes and I cannot be more proud of these people for what they do. They have great and loving hearts, every single one of them.
When I was invited on facebook to this particular event by a friend of mine, I could not help but want to take accept the invitation. This event is hosted for raising money for Akron Children's Hospital in my home state of Ohio. It also reminded me of a class mate that I went to elementary school with. She was born with a Congenital Heart Defect, Hypoplastic left heart syndrome (HLHS) HLHS affects a number of parts of the heart that did not have the chance to fully develop. Which also affects the normal blood flow through the heart. She lost her battle with HLHS when we both was attending 2nd grade. I have remembered her ever since. Children fighting diseases, birth defects and other life threatening illnesses deserve a fighting chance at life. People like Joshua and everyone at Extra Life are doing what they can for every single one of them and they deserve our support. I have not had a chance to speak with Joshua but I hope to play some games along side him and have a chance to chat with him during the event. Even if you are unable to donate, come by and show your support.

About Extra Life
Extra Life started in 2008 by Doc to honor a young girl named Victoria who lost her battle with lymphoblastic leukemia in January of the same year. Partnered with Sarcastic Gamer they started a 24-hour video game marathon to raise money for Texas Children's Hospital that treated her and stayed by her side. Through 2008 and 2009 alone, Extra Life raised $302,000 which 100% of it went back to help kids just like Victoria. They are supported by thousands of gamers hundreds of websites and over 12,000 donors happy to support their cause. Money raised for Extra Life 2015 goes directly to the Children's Miracle Network Hospital of the hosts choice. This means that any money raised by any particular host like Joshua can pick the Hospital that their raised donations go to. In this case, Akron Children's Hospital.
Thank you very much for taking the time to read up on this and if I see you on Joshua's stream we are going to have a good time for an amazing cause!
